Dr. Joaquin Cigarroa joined the APC Council in 2023 as a Council Member. His term runs from 2023 through 2025.

Dr. Cigarroa practices general cardiology. He also does procedures on the heart, including angiograms, percutaneous coronary intervention and treatment for hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. He also does procedures for atrial septal defects and patent foramen ovale. His other interests include coronary artery disease, heart valve disease and aortic diseases.

• Residency: Internal medicine, (1991-92), Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, MA

• Fellowship: Cardiovascular medicine and interventional cardiology - Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, Mass.
